Copyright Policy

Case Studies in Strategic Communication (CSSC) is an academic journal. As such, it is dedicated to the open exchange of information. For this reason, all works published in CSSC are covered by the Creative Commons license known as “Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported (CC BY-NC-ND 3.0).” Copies of this journal or articles in this journal may be distributed for research or educational purposes free of charge and without permission. However, commercial use of the CSSC website or the articles contained herein is expressly prohibited without the written consent of the editor.

Authors submitting a paper to CSSC, by virtue of such submission, agree to confer to CSSC the right to use such paper under the terms of the Creative Commons license described above, if and when the manuscript is accepted for publication. This license allows CSSC to publish a manuscript in a given issue.

Under the license granted to CSSC, authors retain some rights over their work while allowing some use. This is accomplished with a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial No Derivatives (BY-NC-ND) license. This license allows anyone to copy and distribute the article for non-commercial purposes provided that appropriate attribution is given. For details of the rights authors grant users of their work with a BY-NC-ND Creative Commons license, see the “human-readable summary” of the license, which contains a link to the full license. (Note that “you” refers to a user, not an author, in the summary.)

Authors submitting a paper to CSSC do so in the understanding that Internet publishing is both an opportunity and challenge. In this environment, authors and publishers do not always have the means to protect against unauthorized copying or editing of copyright–protected works.
